Let x=y.
$x^2=xy$
$x^2-y^2=xy-y^2$
$(x+y)*(x-y)=y(x-y)$
$x+y=y$
$y+y=y$
$2y=y$
$2=1?$


Share your ones if you have any. Try to find the faults in the bogus solution, I find it makes it easier to check your work.

So i have bad Geometry intuition for geometry olympiad problems. That's why I have decided that should we create a forum for geometry study for people like me. Where we can explain concepts, and solving questions with each other. Also, if anybody who is pro at olympiad geometry is also welcomed as he/she will help us better bcz of experience.

If everybody agree, i will work on it :).

Ali-Baba wants to get into Sesame cave. There is a barrel in front of the entrance. It has four holes with a jar inside each of them, and there is a herring in every jar. A herring can sit in a jar with its head up or down. Ali-Baba can stick his hands into any two holes, and, after examining the positions of the herrings, change their positions in an arbitrary manner. After this operation the barrel begins to rotate, and after it stops Ali-Baba cannot tell one hole from another. The Sesame cave will open if and only if all four herrings are in the same position. A graph is defined as a set of points (\( \geq 3 \)) no three of which are collinear and lines (\( \geq 1 \)) none of which pass through a point. You are allowed to do the following operations on the graph:
(i) Reflect a point about a line (unless the point is already on the graph),
(ii) Reflect a line about a point (unless the line is already on the graph),
(iii) Join three collinear points if any.

Question:
(i) Does the game necessarily end?
(ii) Prove that it is always possible to find a set of concyclic points after a finite number of moves.
I have proved for 3 points and have checked in Geogebra for more points and it seems this is true.

Error Connecting to Server

Hey guys just wanted to share an issue I've always had (looks like more site support threads are getting looked at so perfect timing)

Whenever I am in my AoPS ebooks, just on the web page I am guaranteed to get a notification that there is an "Error connecting to server. Check internet connection. We'll try again in 10s." In fact it just happened right now (total 3 times overall while writing) as I am writing this on the community page. It doesn't really affect me much when I am in the ebook since nothing much should be changing on there, but if I am looking at my feed while on the page, it can be problematic bc I dont get the messages once the error begins, and I have to refresh if I want to find out if I got any messages or new feed to look at. Pretty sure it happens like every 2 minutes for me.

It can't be just because of my internet connection but I move around a lot in the room and like to different places. And can still replicate.

Does anybody else have this issue?

My TeXeR Is Not Saving, or Rendering.

Greetings, Site Support,

I've been working on a TeXeR file. However, all of a sudden, it stopped saving my work, or rendering it. No matter how many times I pressed the save button, I wasn't being notified of my work being saved. Upon reloading the page, it wouldn't render my work (don't worry, I didn't actually lose any of my work; I have it saved in a backup Google Document). The "Render With BBCode" button isn't working either.

Summary of the problem:
Whenever I push the big, top right "Reply" button– NOT THE SMALL LITTLE "QUICK REPLY" BAR ON THE BOTTOM, and reply, I can't scroll down all the way to the bottom of the thread that I just posted in. Sometimes, very rarely though, I doesn't scroll down all the way when I push the "Quick Reply" bar.

1. Go to the link above.

2. Click any thread or create a new one.

3. Click the "Reply" button, not the quick reply bar.

4. Type a reply.

6. Try to scroll down. if you’re lucky, the problem will reproduce.

To scroll all the way down.


-----Frequency:
